Cybersecurity Training Goal for University Students funded by PSF

Project Goal

To enhance the cybersecurity knowledge, digital safety practices, and resilience of university students by equipping them with the skills to identify, prevent, and respond to common cyber threats, enabling them to use digital technologies safely and responsibly in their academic, personal, and professional lives.

Specific Learning Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

• Understand the fundamentals of cybersecurity and digital risk management.
• Recognize common cyber threats, including phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering attacks.
• Apply best practices for password management, multi-factor authentication, and secure online behavior.
• Protect personal and institutional data by following data privacy and information security principles.
• Identify misinformation, online scams, and fraudulent digital activities.
• Respond appropriately to cybersecurity incidents and know how to report security breaches.
• Demonstrate responsible digital citizenship and ethical use of technology.

Expected Outcomes

• Increased awareness of cybersecurity risks among university students.
